Verizon declares Chocolate a success

Verizon Wireless have announced that they have sold over 3.4 million Chocolate cellphones in the US since last summer, calling it a 'sweet success'. Unfortunately, it seems as though there is a high level of dissatisfaction where the Chocolate is concerned, mostly due to crappy hardware. Does anyone here concur with this, and do you have any horror stories of the Chocolate to share with us in the comments? If a product performs badly, surely word of mouth would have gotten around and sales would plummet, but it shows otherwise here. What gives?

My girlfriend just got a Chocolate. Honestly, I think it's among the top 5 best phones available through a carrier. The only problem with the Chocolate is the stupid verizon system it has built-in. There aren't many phones available through a carrier that are worth using. Yeah I have problems with things about the chocolate, but if I were to get a new phone right now, that would be my top choice. Unless I decided to get the new Sony-Ericsson slider but it's not available through any carier.

regardless of the crappiness of the chocolate (all of my chocolate-carrying friends will agree to it), verizon brought a good looking (albeit terrible functioning) phone to market, and had good advertising. same reason that 60 million RAZRs have been sold.
