LG KH1600 coming soon

LG KH1600 coming soon
LG will be releasing its KH1600 slider handset sometime in the near future, with very little information shed on its specifications. So far we know that the main focus is on its WCDMA receiver that can purportedly connect in more than 120 countries. If you look at it differently, that claim could mean HSDPA, finally arriving in North America in some other incarnation. Features include a front-mounted video camera and large-buttoned keypads. The LG KH1600 is tipped to retail for approximately $328.

AT&T to launch HTC Tilt

AT&T to launch HTC Tilt

AT&T has taken up the task to launch the HTC Tilt this October 5th (and not September 30th as we speculated earlier). What can you expect from the Tilt? For starters, you get a 3 megapixel camera with autofocus, HSDPA connectivity, stereo Bluetooth for maximum, wireless music enjoyment, a microSDHC memory card slot (capable of holding up to 32GB microSDHC cards), WiFi support, an integrated GPS receiver, and BlackBerry Connect support - all these are powered by the Windows Mobile 6 Professional operating system. Sounds as though HTC has pretty much got everything covered. The HTC Tilt can be yours for just $299.99 from AT&T after the full suite of rebates is used, while you tie yourself down to yet another contract.

Vertu Ascent Ti official details

Vertu Ascent Ti official details

Back in July, the Vertu Ascent Ti was but another handset that was floating around in the annals of the FCC. Official photos and details are now available, and here's more skinny on the Vertu Ascent Ti. This quad-band GSM cellphone will feature 3G connectivity in addition to its 3 megapixel camera, a titanium chassis, a sapphire face layer, and a cowhide back (choose from red, black, or brown colors). The main attraction would be "Vertu Fortress" that enables users to sync notes, contacts and calendars with an online server. The Vertu Ascent Ti won't be cheap though, retailing for a jaw-dropping $6,628. It comes with a trio of specially composed ringtones from David Arnold, the famed Bond-movie composer.

Nokia could challenge iPhone

The iPhone was truly revolutionary where its user interface is concerned, but take a look at the video of this Nokia handset and tell me you're not impressed. This yet-unnamed Nokia phone will be released sometime next year, boasting a virtually identical user interface to that of the iPhone. Combine that user interface with Nokia's expertise at cramming in high end features into their handsets and chances are you have a very strong contender to go up against the iPhone. Imagine having GPS navigation as well as a whole slew of multimedia features on a touchscreen phone with Nokia branding - sounds like every geek's wet dream to me.

Silver HTC Touch coming soon

Silver HTC Touch coming soon
The HTC Touch was pretty revolutionary when it was released this year, but unfortunately it came in just a couple of colors - black and wasabi green. There is a new color of the HTC Touch coming our way courtesy of Devicewire, so folks who love silver will definitely dig this repainted Touch. Werewolves ought to avoid this £257.99 smartphone when it is released this November.

Sony Ericsson W580i from AT&T

Sony Ericsson W580i from AT&T

AT&T has finally made the Sony Ericsson W580i available, long after the handset was released earlier this year. It is a pretty affordable music phone, retailing between $79 and $129 depending on the contract you sign up with. This Walkman cellphone boasts an integrated FM radio, TrackID and MusicID music recognition programs, a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth A2DP connectivity, a Memory Stick Micro slot, a 2" display, and a pedometer. Sony Ericsson makes pretty good music handsets, and the W580i is definitely worth checking out.

Video take on the Serenata

Here's a video of the recently released Serenata cellphone, the result of a collaboration between Samsung and Bang & Olufsen. It costs a whopping $2,000 - definitely not an amount that I would fork out for a cellphone that relies more on the brand name and pedigree than souped up hardware specifications.

HTC Touch Dual Slider video

Here's a video of the new HTC Touch Dual Slider that was recently released. The entire dialogue is pretty dry courtesy of a British monotone, but it ought to be more interesting that viewing all the facts and figures that are available on your spreadsheet. After viewing the video, what do you think of the HTC Touch Dual Slider? Would you rush out to get one?

BlackBerry 9000 in the works?

BlackBerry 9000 in the works?
BlackBerries have been around for years, but to date, no upcoming release of any BlackBerry has garnered as much attention as the BlackBerry 9000. This work-in-progress is said to feature 3G connectivity (with the assumption of North American 3G bands and not European bands) with HSDPA for a theoretical maximum speed of 3.6Mbps on-the-go. It will be powered by a rockin' 600MHz processor that would make it one of the fastest around in town. Word on the street also has it that RIM is currently hoping to integrated a Backup/Restore function that allows users to backup everything onto an on-board memory card. No word on a release date just yet, but an early 2008 release isn't too far off the mark.

Nokia 5300 cloned as PMP

Nokia 5300 cloned as PMP
What you see here might look like the Nokia 5300 XpressMusic at first glance, but it is actually a portable media player that takes after Nokia's design (most probably without permission from them...arrrr!). It features a 2.4" display and comes with AVI and 3GP video format support, MP3, MIDI, WAV, WMA, and AAC audio playback, an integrated FM tuner, a 2 megapixel camera, and 8GB of internal memory. As for the numeric keypad, it isn't there to make calls or type text messages. Instead, it caters for pre-loaded games as well as other downloaded games. No idea on how much it costs, but 8GB sure sounds more expensive than the average cloned PMP street price.
