Fujitsu F905i spy pic

Fujitsu F905i spy pic

Here's a leaked image of the upcoming Fujitsu F905i that will feature the largest display in the entire 905i series, measuring a whopping 3.2" diagonally across at WVGA+ resolution (480 x 862 pixels) in 16 million colors. The camera is pretty impressive as well, bringing 3.2 megapixels of goodness along with autofocus. The F905i boasts the swinging screen design found on the F904i originally, and improvements include multitasking capabilities, enabling you to take advantage of its 1Seg DMB compatibility while using a full HTML browser simultaneously. No idea on how much it costs but you can bet your bottom dollar that this will be available in Japan only.

Sidekick LX to launch on October 24th?

Sidekick LX to launch on October 24th?
Folks who have been waiting a long time for the Sidekick LX will finally be able to get their fingers on one this October 24th at a nearby T-Mobile store. Apparently, T-Mobile is giving out pre-release vouchers for the Sidekick LX that can be redeemed on launch day. This looks like concrete proof of a launch date. As with many other things in life, only time will tell. From this new screenshot, you can see that the Sidekick LX has shed some serious weight and retained the superb QWERTY keyboard.

Asus P550 leak

Asus P550 leak

Looks like the folks at the FCC have gotten their mittens on the Asus P550 smartphone, which can only indicate that this device will probably be released sometime in the very near future. It will be powered by a Marvel PXA270 520MHz processor running on Windows Mobile 6.0 Professional. Other hardware specifications include 256MB ROM, 64MB RAM, support for 2100MHz UMTS networks and tri-band GSM networks, a 3.5" 65 color TFT display at 240 x 320 resolution, a 2 megapixel camera, WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, and a miniSD memory card slot. Having a GPS navigation function embedded inside would've made this one highly desirable product, but let's see if the current high end specs will be able to perform as well in theory first.

LG Viewty supports DivX playback

LG Viewty supports DivX playback

The upcoming LG Viewty cellphone will feature DivX playback, enabling you to carry your favorite movies encoded in DivX format wherever you go. You can either watch it on the go or hook it up to a nearby TV without going through the hassle of format conversion. The Viewty ships with a DivX certified logo, so incompatibility problems will definitely be ruled out in the finished product. Some of the other impressive features on this 5 megapixel digital camera phone include 120 fps video recording, an image stabilizer, handwriting recognition, and manual focus for its camera. Folks in Europe can start lining up for the LG Viewty this October onwards, as other regions will pick it up sometime after that.

Orange to bring iPhone to France

Orange to bring iPhone to France
French folks will soon be able to sip their morning coffee with a baguette in hand while they watch the latest movie on their iPhones...once Orange releases it, that is. The tentative release date has been set for November, and the question is - would it be released earlier than Germany's November 9 launch, on the same day, or later? Orange also mentione that they won't be subsidizing the iPhone in any way and stayed mum where pricing details are concerned. Needless to say, those living Stateside still have the cheapest iPhone price at $399 as our friends living across the pond (Germany, at least) will have to fork out €399 for theirs.

Nokia 6301 is a UMA phone

Nokia 6301 is a UMA phone
The Nokia 6301 utilizes UMA (Unlicense Mobile Access) technology, bringing seamless voice and data mobility over GSM cellular and WLAN networks to consumers. This means dropped calls, echoes, and poor reception will be a thing of the past. The Nokia 6301 measures a mere 11.9mm thin and features a 2" QVGA display, 30MB of internal memory, a microSD memory card slot, voice dialing, an MP3 player, and an integrated FM radio. It is expected to hit selected markets in Europe sometime in the fourth quarter of this year, retailing for approximately 230 Euros prior to tax and subsidies. Be careful if your other half gets you this for your birthday or Christmas - you can no longer use the "The signal is really poor, I'm breaking up! Call you back later?" excuse.

Cloned N93i makes its rounds

Cloned N93i makes its rounds
Looks like the iPhone is not the only handset that's immune to cloning, as the Nokia N93i is yet another comrade to fall prey to these unscrupulous design thieves. Specifications wise, this poor excuse of a N93i doesn't hold a candle to the real thing with a 2.4" touchscreen display, a microSD memory card slot, and a 2 megapixel camera. Other than the exterior form factor that looks like the N93i, everything else is just subpar although the box itself is pretty close to the original. Definitely something to look out for on eBay if you happen to stumble across cheap N93is.

Touchscreen keypad patent filed

Touchscreen keypad patent filed

Looks like touch-based interface in cellphones are starting to make even more headway with the Apple iPhone and LG Prada paving the way (some will even include the Treo 600 and its successors as well along with a slew of HTC smartphones). Sony Ericsson has just patented an application known as “Programmable keypad". Hopefully the final product would be one that Sony Ericsson is proud off, as losing out in this potential blockbuster market could affect the company's bottomline dramatically.

E-Ten Glofiish X800 to ship soon
The E-Ten Glofiish X800 is set to go on sale soon, and this time on a worldwide scale. The specifications are certainly drool worthy - a Samsung 500Mhz processor, 256MB ROM, 64MB RAM, a 2.8" 65k color TFT LCD touchscreen display at 640 x 480 resolution, HSPDA/UMTS connectivity, Bluetooth 2.0, WiFi, an integrated SiRFStar III GPS chipset, a 2 megapixel autofocus camera with flash, a VGA camera for video calls, all crammed into a 113.5mm x x 60.5mm x 15.8mm body that weighs 139 grams. It will be powered by the Windows Mobile 6 operating system, and as they say the proof is in the pudding. Hopefully real world performance will live up to its specifications.

Samsung SGH-i560 runs on Symbian

Samsung SGH-i560 runs on Symbian

Treo 500v heading to the US?

Treo 500v heading to the US?
Looks like somebody has stumbled upon sensitive FCC documents, depicting the approval of the Treo 500 and 500v for sale in the US. This means those of us living Stateside will just have to hold out a little longer before we get our hands on these new Treos. As for the specifications, nothing new will be added and neither will features be dropped as these Treos make their way across the Atlantic. Strangely enough, ASUS was listed as the applicant on the FCC application rather than Palm.
