FCC gives nod to Sanyo S1

FCC gives nod to Sanyo S1
The Sanyo S1 has just received approval from the FCC, which means there will be a new candybar handset coming from Sprint in the near future. Measuring just 11.1mm in thickness, the S1 won't knock on the upper echelon's doors, targeting instead folks who are looking for an entry level handset. Features include Bluetooth connectivity, although the lack of a camera is definitely a letdown. Chances are Sprint will make the Sanyo S1 available sometime before the holidays roll around.

New Motorola pics

New Motorola pics

How many cellphone ads do we see that feature a guy featured inside, barring David Beckham? Very few, I say, and this is no different with females parading the Motorola W371, W212 and W510 handsets with a permanently ecstatic look plastered on their mugs. The W212 is an Asia Pacific CDMA basic cellphone with ordinary specification, bringing an FM radio and a CSTN display to budget users. As for the GSM W371 and W510, where the former resembles the W375 albeit missing out on the camera and FM playback.

LG introduces LC3600

LG introduces LC3600
There is a new LG handset in town, and the LG LC3600 is its name. Bringing together both style and performance, the LC3600 hopes to be the missing link when it comes to fashionable electronics (although I think Apple beat LG to the punch with the iPod Touch). Sporting a 9.9mm slim body, the LG LC3600 is set to rock the Korean world first, where it remains to be seen whether the rest of the world will benefit from this fashion handset release. No idea on specifications and pricing though.

More info on Samsung Croix

More info on Samsung Croix
Word on the street has it that the Samsung Croix (aka F700) will be released this Christmas in UK on Vodafone, and it might even come with a free monthly contract. When pitted against the iPhone, this sounds like the more economically prudent choice especially when you save on $399 when procuring the Apple iPhone. In addition, Vodafone has just announced that it has inked a deal with Omnifone to allow subscribers to download tracks from Universal Music Group, Sony BMG Music Entertainment, EMI Music and Warner Music Group directly to your handset for just 1.99 pounds (around $4) per week. That's pretty snazzy since there is no download cap involved. Will you be picking up the HSDPA-capable Samsung Croix when it is released?

The Softbank X02HT will feature a 2.4" display, a 2 megapixel camera, WiFi connectivity, and Bluetooth support, cramming all these features into a 120 gram body. O2 has leaked Motorola Z10

O2 has leaked Motorola Z10

Looks like the Motorola Z10 will be available from O2 next month owards, and upon closer inspection you'll realize that the Z10 is nothing but an over-glorified Z8, with the main difference being the 3.2 megapixel camera. No idea on how much this 3G capable handset will cost, but it shouldn't exactly set you back by a considerable amount. Anyone game for an upgrade?
