The W385 work great for me. With a little hacking iSync on my mac syncs up contact and my iCal (multiple calendars not working yet) events. I can also transfer images via bluetooth.
My only complaint is that my ringtone is not playing when the phone is set to speaker-phone. Anybody else experiance this?

all you need to do is google "motorola software update" and "P2Kcommander", download both programs. after down loading both programs open up the "motorola software updater". plug your phone into the computer with a usb cord, it will take a few minutes for your phone to register. after your phone regiters open up the P2Kcommander program, on the right hand side of the window for this program chose to view the c drive, find where you want to import your phone photos, on the left hand side choose the p2kmobliephone drive. to find your pictures go double click on the motorola shared file, then click on the pictures click on the file you want to move to your computer and then click copy (located at the bottom of program window) you can only do one picture at a time. the best place to import pictures is a folder on your desktop you made just for you pics. if you have any questions email me at jlusk80@gmail.com.

To transfer pictures use a bluetooth enabled PC/PDA. My laptop does not have bluetooth so I transfer the pictures from my W385 to my Pocket PC's SD card then transfer to my laptop. Works great and very fast

I have a Motorola W385 phone, and the time display on the outside isn't the way I would like it..?

I chatted with tech support and they said to get the pics off the phone to a PC was a "very complicated issue", C'mon, why not just download them using the USB and the $40.00 Motorola PhoneTools..Oh yeah, tried that..didnt work. My plan does not have texting. Other than that, its a phone that feels pretty good, except the speaker phone seems to not work real well in a noisy environment, like the inside of a car. Oh well, it was free and the battery life is unreal, I have not charged it yet and Im going on 3 weeks, just a few minutes on the USB cable with PhoneTools.

Email the pics from the send option to transfer photos from Phone to PC. You need to have texting in order to do so. Insted of using a phone number to send a photo, change to ABC mode and enter in the email address. The @ and . are the 1 key in ABC mode as well.
Hope this helped.

I have 2 devices - a Pocket PC & a phone (need to be able to be online while on phone). So, I was looking for a straight-ahead, durable (I'm a serious phone killer), compact, intuitive phone with great battery life.
THIS IS IT.
Everything you need in a phone. If you want a SmartPhone, get a Smartphone! I've been using Motorola product (I kill everything else within a month - literally!) for over 10 years and this is the best _PHONE_ I've ever had.
So, for those of us who need exactly what this is - it's perfect!
...and it didn't break the bank by any means!

I would like to know how to take my pictures from the phone and put on my PC. W385/U5 Anyone?
By Dennis , 24/11/07 10:50 AM (CommentID #374752)
The lack of EVDO is exactly why I purchased this phone. Doing consulting out of my house and always dropping calls when my old phone switched from EV to 1X was getting old. This has not lost one yet!!!! I agree with the "want a camera - buy a camera" statement. When they try to cram too much into one device and give it good battery life, etc it's going to have issues.
So far I love mine, does exacly what it's supposed to do....be a phone and work.

I recently had a phone that lacked umph! It wasn't a very good phone. So i purched this phone. This phone is excellent. The camera is superb, the sound is clear, the screen is big enough to see what you need to see, and it is very sturdy!

The phone is very good. Feels great in the hand. Solid. Not flimsy, and it has a certain heft to it. Very comfortable. It is an excellent phone. Camera is a an extra, all I wanted was a solid, slim phone that had a clear viewable screen and great sound. This phone has met all my needs, and is built strong enough to last a good while.

Need drivers for this unit (W385) so I can use my USB cable and my Datapilot SW..Any help would be appreciated. Tried Datapilot (Susteen) corp, no help!

I love this thing. Battery life is fantastic, and the sound quality is great. The screen is large enough for reading a quick SMS or finding a contact. It does what it's designed to: be a PHONE.
This model isn't SUPPOSED to be anything more than that. "Lackluster"??? For a PHONE it's nigh-unto perfect.
I saw a review on another site where the poster whined about the lack of EVDO on his new W385. Duh?!?!?
Anyone that buys this phone and then complains about a lack of features is a moron. People that buy phones because they look "pretty" should not be allowed outside without a helmet.
