Sony Ericsson has dropped news of the Z250 clamshell cellphone that offers basic level functions at what is presumably an affordable price point. You get features such as a VGA camera, a lovely metallic finish, and a 128 x 160 pixel 65k color CSTN passive matrix display. What makes it all the more attractive are hidden status icons that light up whenever a call comes in or when you receive a message. The tri-band GSM Z250 will come in a couple of versions – North Americans get one while the rest of the world has theirs. If you aren’t in a hurry, you can always pick up the Z250 when it is released in Q3 this year.
