O2 Cocoon for U.K. market

O2 Cocoon for U.K. market

O2 will be dipping its fingers into the music cellphone market, and their attempt is exemplified by the Cocoon. This cellphone was so named due to its all-white color and rounded form factor that holds extra features, including LEDs located just below the outer lid that light up during incoming calls and function as a display for the Cocoon's unique clock radio feature whenever it is docked. What else can one expect from this 3G handset? For starters, you get a 2 megapixel camera with flash and autofofcus, dedicated music controls, a microSD memory card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack. I wonder why Bluetooth connectivity was not thrown in since that is pretty much standard across the board these days. Those living in the U.K. will be able to pick up the Cocoon for £300.

Sony Ericsson W910 high-end handset

Sony Ericsson W910 high-end handset
Sony Ericsson has recently announced the W910 cellphone that does not harm to the Walkman brand, featuring a shake control system that offers innovation to the portable music industry. It's music playback capability lets you access the next or previous track by flicking your wrist quickly, while a back and forth shaking motion results in a shuffled playlist. Features of this GSM/EDGE/HSDPA handset include a 2.4" 262k color QVGA display, a Memory Stick Micro card slot, and a Media Manager PC software. China will receive the W908c handset instead that will be missing UMTS/HSDPA support. Sony Ericsson has not released information about the price of this handset, but it ought to be available by Q4 this year.

Sony Ericsson Z250 coming in Q3 2007

Sony Ericsson Z250 coming in Q3 2007
Sony Ericsson has dropped news of the Z250 clamshell cellphone that offers basic level functions at what is presumably an affordable price point. You get features such as a VGA camera, a lovely metallic finish, and a 128 x 160 pixel 65k color CSTN passive matrix display. What makes it all the more attractive are hidden status icons that light up whenever a call comes in or when you receive a message. The tri-band GSM Z250 will come in a couple of versions - North Americans get one while the rest of the world has theirs. If you aren't in a hurry, you can always pick up the Z250 when it is released in Q3 this year.

Sony Ericsson W960 assumes top spot

Sony Ericsson W960 assumes top spot

In the world of Sony Ericsson only, that is. The W960 is the latest Walkman phone to be announced, coming with 8GB of flash memory - more than enough space to store up to 700 albums or 8,000 songs. Not only that, you will be able to get 3G and WiFi connectivity, while the 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus ability snaps some pretty decent pictures under optimal conditions. Of course, while Sony Ericsson wants you to think that the W960 will replace your digital camera, cellphone, and MP3 player, you know better than that right? The W960 measures 109mm x 55mm x 16mm and weighs 119 grams. Check out a more comprehensive list of specifications after the jump.

A peek at the Motorola SCPL

A peek at the Motorola SCPL

Motorola will be unveiling its newest phone, the SCPL in the near future, but as usual, we have the customary blur shot courtest of BGR. The SCPL will run on the JUIX operating system and comes with fairly standard specifications including a 2 megapixel camera that does video as well, a 240 x 320 screen with 16 million color capacity, quad-band GSM/EDGE compatibility, and a microSD memory card slot all confined into a body that makes the Motorola L7 look fat. Pricing and availability details are currently unknown, and I have a feeling the SCPL will find an endearing position among those in the healthcare industry.
