Motorola iDEN i876 approved by FCC

The Motorola iDEN i876 cellphone has recently passed FCC conformity tests with flying colors, and it boasts GPS connectivity. Unfortunately, the GPS function is rather limited as all it can do so far would be to send your location information to a notebook or other compatible device through a serial data cable. I'm not sure what practical use is there for this function, as even the most basic of GPS navigation devices already feature way more functions than just current location. Let's just keep our fingers crossed that we'll be pleasantly surprised when Q4 2007 rolls around.
