New Katanas and Samsung in the wild
Story posted on: February 27, 2007. Filed in: samsung.
In the grand tradition of spy photos, the Samsung SPH-M620 that you see above as well as the PRO 700 and PRO 800 shots in the photo gallery are captured with just the right amount of blurness to give it an authentic look. In case you think the Samsung SPH-M620 looks familiar, it is actually the CDMA version of the F300 Ultra Music handset, featuring a generous color display and dedicated music keys. As for the PRO 700 and PRO 800, they are most probably newer variations of Sanyo's Katana line. More to come as details emerge.

I've actually had the pleasure of seeing this phone in person. It was a non-working prototype but it was still pretty awesome. Size comparison is similar to the KRZR but much thinner. One side is the phone and the other is the MP3/Media player. There is a small slide button on the edge of the phone that will switch between the phone and media player. It will also have a small leather slide pouch that will have a separate battery in it, so you can charge your phone while it's in the case. Pretty cool. Nice alternative to the iPhone.
