Palm has officially announced that the unlocked GSM version of its Treo 680 will make its way to stores at the beginning of next month. This quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE smartphone will come in four new colors, comprising of crimson, copper, arctic, and graphite for $399 a pop. It will run on the much-revered Palm OS, while the removal of the external antenna adds to its dashing good looks. The Treo 680 is considered to be an entry level smartphone for beginners, as power users will most probably settle for something more muscular (processing and feature wise) like the Treo 750v.
