New concept phone from Synaptics
Story posted on: October 5, 2006. Filed in: others.

Synaptics are collaborating with industrial design studio Pilotfish in order to develop and design the next-generation cellphone concept, also know as the Onyx. The Onyx is empowered by Synaptics' clear, capacitive sensing technology which marries the intelligent and adaptive user interface with a drool-worthy industrial design. The Onyx boasts a never-seen-before user interaction design that renders current cellphone operating systems redundant. One cannot help but salivate at the prospect of seeing the Onyx go into production, but it would be nice to see them downsize this handset a bit as it looks big enough to double as a police baton.
