Sony Ericsson drops W958c handset
China will be receiving the specially constructed Sony Ericsson W958c handset. This candybar cellphone is essentially the GSM/GPRS version of the W950 and will run on the Symbian v9.1 UIQ 3.0 operating system. Features include an extremely generous 2.6" touchscreen display, 4GB of internal flash memory which rivals other portable audio players, a battery life which can last up to 10 hours of continuous audio playback, support for video playback at 30fps, handwriting recognition technology, an IrDA port, and USB 2.0 connectivity. It is a pity the Bluetooth connection is only 1.2 for such a feature packed cellphone. The W958c ships with the Walkman player 2.0 software which supports MP3, AAC, AAC+, E-AAC+, WAV and m4a file formats. There is no word nor official price regarding the Sony Ericsson W958c as at press time.
