Sony Ericsson updates Z550
Story posted on: September 29, 2006. Filed in: sonyericsson.

Looks like the Z550 clamshell cellphone from Sony Ericsson has received a refresh without much fanfare. The revised version is known as the Z558, and it shares most of the same specifications as its predecessor, although there are several noteworthy enhancements such as the inclusion of a touchscreen interface which will be a boon to those who want to input characters in Chinese when sending text messages over to their friends. This makes the Sony Ericsson Z558 the first non-smartphone device from the compaby to come with a touchscreen. The dimensions, weight, and specifications remain true to the original Z550, so don't expect the moon. Several selected markets will be the recipients of the Z558 later this October.
