VGA resolution on 1.98-inch screen by Samsung

Samsung Electronics have successfully developed a 1.98″ LCD panel that uses amorphous silicon (a-Si) technology to achieve VGA resolution on such a small screen. Touted as a first in the industry, this news bodes well for cellphone manufacturers as screens on cellphones can now display Windows screens and documents without losing any quality or look distorted due to the awkward compression. This LCD panel is also great for mobile TV images as it is capable of displaying 10 times as many pixels per square inch when compared to a normal 40″ High Definition LCD TV.
