It is rumored that a couple of new Treos will be available via Cingular when October rolls around. The new Treos will go under the monikers Nitro and Lennon. A first look shows that both devices take after the previous models’ candybar design, screen, and keyboard layout. The winning touch would be getting rid of the external antenna, making these new Treos much easier to pocket and keeping abreast with its rivals in terms of design. The Lennon is expected to run on Windows Mobile 5.0 and will come with WiFi connectivity, EDGE and UMTS support, and a 1.3 megapixel camera. The Nitro will run on an updated Palm OS.
