NTT DoCoMo to standardize all phones

Telecom Asia has word that NTT DoCoMo, Japan's largest mobile operator, has plans to make all its models compatible with global standards. This move sounds too good to be true as Europe, U.S., and the rest of the world can finally have access to cool, multi-function Japanese phones. Analysts predict that this revamp to make all DoCoMo models GSM-compatible will take at least a couple of years. This new system will also enable the i-mode Internet service to be used in over 70 countries when implemented.
