Switch Back Messaging phone from Kyocera

The Kyocera Switch Back Messaging Phone tries to pack in text messaging, instant messaging, the Web experience, and a camera within a budget clamshell design. It weighs slightly over 4 ounces and has a functionality that is missing sorely in most phones nowadays. The external display showcases rudimentary information like incoming caller ID, but turn the phone sideways and flip the face to unveil the vibrant, internal widescreen and a QWERTY keyboard that is more than adequate to make texting, emailing, and gaming a breeze. The Switch Back will be available this month nationwide, and will retail for $149.99. More specs after the jump.

• Large, hidden QWERTY keypad
• Dual display screens: External 65k color (128 X 128); Internal 65k color (128 X 160 widescreen)
• VGA Camera with 32MB built-in memory and 5-step digital zoom
• Integrated speakerphone
• Superphonic "real-music" ringtones
• WAP 2.0 Web Browser
• Integrated loop antenna
• Scheduler, calculator, alarm and stopwatch
• Pre-loaded with Sexy Poker and Lemonade Tycoon games
• Access to Virgin XL service for the latest ringtone, wallpaper, games downloads

i bought this phone about 5 months ago..i love the qwerty keypad. the camera works fine, like any other camera phone, i was impressed with the internet capability of the phone, it has alot of features, like voice recongnition, you can send and recive pic messages, and give each of your contacts an assigned ringer and picture. im very satisfied with the phone. i paid $79.99 for it at best buy. i just wish it came with a changable face plate - or sold in another color...the black, silver and red just starts to look ugly...

I am not tech savy. So I have a few ?'s. Can the Switch Back, type, like a regular keyboard? On my business issued cell, you have to search for your letter from the groups of three on each key until you finally spell your word. But, this switch back appears to be able to type each letter as you need it! Is this so?

My wife is deaf and this would be a great tool for us to have if it were easy to learn to use.

And / or do you have a cell phone/system that can be hooked up to a TTY and the communication carried on via the key board?

Thank you for your time and I eagerly await your answers.
