A First i-mode Edge Handset For the French
French telcos Bouygues Telecom and Vitelcom have announced their first i-mode handset. The Dreamphone G500i, operating on Linux system will be unleashed on the French Market in March 2006. It will take advantage of Bouygues Telecom's EDGE offer 'i-mode Haut Débit' which include TV streaming, full track download, free email and MSN service. The phone has been designed according to NTT DoCoMo i-mode specifics and optimized for EDGE networks. Linux was chosen for its affordability and flexibility.
